is back in session

8 week SUP technique online coaching program

Confidently Improve your standup paddle stroke, paddle faster, longer, and pain-free.

Are you…

  • Hitting a plateau in your performance and not sure how to move past it? (what workouts to do)
  • Short on time and looking for the most effective way to make progress? (Hint: It’s technique)
  • Unsure what land-based exercises compliment standup paddling? (because even though you don’t love it, you know it is so much easier (i.e – faster) to get in a workout on land)
  • Experiencing pain during or after paddling? (Yup, this needs fixing)

Or are you…

  • That person with cement on your feet at the buoy turn?
  • Certain that you would be faster if you didn’t zigzag constantly? (the answer is yes, you would be.)

If you answered “yes”, then this program will help you:

  • Improve paddle skills and stroke technique.
  • Improve paddling efficiency, speed, and stamina
  • Use proper body mechanics for power and injury prevention
  • Modify your stroke for past injuries
  • Maintain longevity in this sport.
  • Gain confidence and motivation
  • Make improvements with every session
  • Feel really good about the way you train

How it works:

Upon sign up you will be enrolled in a course inside the Seychelle SUP app and receive access to training material.  Videos, training programs, and weekly coaching designed to help you improve your SUP technique and elevate the way you train. This course includes a separate set of exercises and instructions for 8 weeks of strength and cross training workouts as well.

Every week I will host a 90-minute open coaching session on Zoom, where we will go over:

The week’s workouts

– Answer any questions that you may have

– Dive into a video analysis session for anyone who has submitted their videos this week. During video analysis I will highlight exactly what I see in your stroke and give you the drills you need to practice to improve it.

You will also receive access to my Drill Video Series course. These are the tools you will use outside of our coaching sessions to practice and improve your stroke technique.

Join the SUP STROKE SCHOOL community platform on the app and share with other paddlers your journey for support, encouragement, and accountability.

You do not need to attend all weekly coaching sessions and you do not need to submit videos for analysis every week. I suggest attending zoom calls every other week and submitting videos every 2-4 weeks.

FAQs

What date and times are the group calls?  The coaching calls are Thursdays 1pm EST. You do not need to be able to attend every week to see results from this program, though you are more than welcome to if your schedule allows.

Thursdays at 1PM EST  (weekly call time is subject to change)

Are the calls recorded? The weekly coaching calls will be recorded and available to watch in the app the following day. You do not need to be able to attend every week to see results from this program. I suggest attending calls and submitting your videos every other week.

What is a video analysis? Are these done in a group setting? – You will be provided instructions on how to record and submit videos of your stroke. I will go over these on a shared screen with you during one of our weekly group coaching sessions. Yes, your technique videos will be shared in a small, private group setting consisting only of other paddlers who are all there for the same reason as you are. You will also get the chance to see how others are paddling, improving, and making similar mistakes as you by witnessing their video analysis. This makes the process even more powerful. You will leave this program being able to analyze your own videos as well.

Is there a payment plan option? Yes, You can pay in full or in 3 monthly installments of $347. After the first 8 weeks, the investment for this program is $187 a month.

What is the time commitment required to complete the programs? What if I can only paddle __ days a week?  The training programs are written with the intention of working for different people with different schedules and training capabilities. They will include 3 paddle sessions and 2 strength/cross training sessions per week.  + 1 bonus session for those of you who need or have the extra time.  If you can paddle 2 – 3 times per week and train on land 1-2 times per week, then you will be able to get a lot out of this training program and see results.

The more time you spend on the water, the more practice time you will have to make improvements. However, you will still get a lot out of the time spent attending the weekly coaching sessions, submitting your videos for analysis, and asking questions of me and the community. I will be available to help you modify the program to fit your schedule during the weekly coaching calls.

What if I will be out of town for one of the weeks or need to start the program a week late after signing up?  No problem. Not all calls need to be attended. You will have 8 weeks of training programs to complete at you own pace. (I obviously recommend 8 weeks.) You will have full access to the platform, all coaching materials, and the weekly coaching calls until you decide to cancel your membership. Your access to the online community and Drill Video series does not expire.

How long will I have access to the programs for? Will I be able to go at my own pace and take longer than 8 weeks? Yes, You will have 8 weeks of training programs to complete at you own pace. (I obviously recommend 8 weeks.) You will have full access to the platform, all coaching materials, and the weekly coaching calls until you decide to cancel your membership. Your access to the online community and Drill Video series does not expire.

What equipment do I need to complete the training? Do I need a race board, a GPS?  You will need whatever board you regularly use for paddling. It doesn’t necessarily need to be a race board. If you are more into touring than racing, you can use a touring board.

You will need your paddle, your leash, and your pfd. An extra leash will be helpful for the resistance drills.

A GPS with programmable intervals such as a Speed coach or a Garmin will be helpful, however, you could use an interval timer app on your phone inside a waterproof case with headphones so you can hear it beep, or even a stop watch on your wrist will do the trick.

What strength equipment will I need?  At the very least, you will need a mat, a bed sheet, a doorway, and a chair and you will be able to do most of the exercises. Ideally you also have a couple of sets of dumbbells and/or some long bands with handles. Several of the exercises can be modified with a suspension trainer. (trx) You can also do the entire program at a gym facility. I write it with a wide range of modifications. I also include video examples of each workout and am available in the group chat and coaching calls to help you modify for your training environment.

Am I a competent enough paddler to be accepted into SUP STROKE SCHOOL?  If you’ve made it this far down the page and you feel the call like this program is for you, then YES! If you need any further guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out via either method below.

Can I book 1:1 time with Seychelle? Yes you have the option to book a 45 min 1:1 session with Seychelle as an ad-on any time for $175.

Is there a satisfaction guarantee? Yes! If after 30 days you have attended at least 2 of the weekly coaching sessions, watched and practiced the drills at least 2 times and submitted videos for analysis at least once (proof of putting in appropriate effort will be required) and you believe that my coaching is not for or does not work for you, then a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be issued for lack of time or ability to complete the program nor for failure to use/cancel monthly membership. Refund requests can be made via email to seychellesup@gmail.com.

Hear what others have to say about working with Seychelle:

“Seychelle is really good at finding the nuanced changes I needed to make to my stroke.
My stroke is more efficient and powerful now. I now know how to ramp up my training as I get closer to competition. I’m more stable on my board. My speed is up to where I can cruise between 5.5 and 6.25 mph. That’s about .75 to 1 mph faster than before! ” – Ben Bailey

“Working with Seychelle I  improved dramatically. I became faster. I paddled better. My form was better. My paddling hugely improved.

And I created even more of a passion,  more of desire to be better and to challenge my flow.

It was perfect. I would highly recommend it and I can’t wait to work with her again!” – Jeannie Johns

“I’ve been training with Seychelle less than two months and I’ve noticed a significant change in my cardiovascular stamina and my overall strength. This morning for example, I did a one hour interval training and it took me half the amount of time to get across the lake where I train than it has in the past. I’ve seen a lot of change in a very little bit of time just with following the training sessions and meetings.

I’m a forty eight year old woman and I feel like I was when I was twenty playing lacrosse in college, after having had three children and pursued a career in medicine. So that’s huge.” – Alison Considine

“My biggest challenge was getting enough time out on the water on my board.  I don’t live close to water, so getting myself organized and coordinated around my schedule and my kids schedule caused me stress and struggle to feel like I was actually getting the time in that I should be. I have never been able to get in more than 1 -2 paddles a week. I have realized over the course of the program that I just need to know that I am making improvement, growing more confident, and that each time I get on the water is progress toward better paddling.

I also have been able to get more consistent in my paddling – less arms, more full body, that has allowed me to improve my speed, endurance, and comfort out on my board.

I am most proud of my ability to paddle longer distances – and enjoy it…I don’t feel too tired, too sore. Seychelle has been very supportive and creative in helping find ways to get practice with my skills and drills. Her approach to meeting us each where we are in our paddle journey has been very helpful – especially because we all had different skill levels and experiences.

I enjoyed the group sharing and support – it was nice to see encouragement from the others when I didn’t feel like I was making progress.  I also liked that we could push each other by posting what our progress was.” – Holly Crowder

“Seychelle has that edge and intensity that I want in a coach and at the same time she is compassionate and a great listener. Seychelle coaches with such love and compassion but she also challenges us. I think that’s rare to find in a coach.  Everything she’s had to offer has great value because it’s just enriched my life in so many ways.” – Alice Batson

“Seychelle has the perfect ability to take my negative thoughts and turn them into a positive opportunity. With the group I appreciate seeing that we have similar struggles, yet all made positive strides in our goals. I have gained confidence in my ability and I have improved physically as things that previously would ache or twinge no longer do so regardless of paddle duration.”  – Bobbi Mcquown

“Working with Seychelle is giving me a structure and a plan to implement. To have an analyzed and really intentional plan to reach my goals has been very helpful. I know what I’m doing every time I’m going to train, whether it’s to paddle or to lift or to do cardio, there’s a plan which I think just generally makes the session better. Seychelle has even helped me identify what my goals were and why.

I really appreciated her energy and I love working with someone who has a champion mindset and knows how to accomplish her goals over and over and over again. She really leads by example. As a result I am thriving in working with her and have gained the confidence I need to be able to achieve my goals.”  – Meredith Stewart

TESTIMONIALS

I knew that I wanted to race and I wanted to find somebody to train me, somebody who would train me at my age too, because I’m starting late in life.  When I looked Seychelle up,  I knew right away that she was the person I would be working with.

I wanted somebody who would help me with my technique, my speed, and to take me serious that I really, really wanted to race.

Working with Seychelle I  improved dramatically. I became faster. I paddled better. My form was better. My paddling hugely improved.

And I created even more of a passion,  more of desire to be better and to challenge my flow.

It was perfect. I would highly recommend it and I can’t wait to work with her again!

Jeannie Johns

I would never have imagined in a thousand years when I started coaching with Seychelle, that at age 56 I would end up on the start line at the Euros  with an England vest on, on team England. Thanks to Seychelle I was just so in the right mindset for that. I was there, I was ready, and I was just so engaged in it. I knew that I was not gonna win any medals. My expectations for my own performance were realistic, but I had the most life changing experience there. Being able to have the confidence to do that, that’s what’s up here (my head) and in here. (my heart) Seychelle has taken me as an athlete on that journey.

Anni Ridsdill Smith

I can see physical results. I can see my body shape change, my muscle mass change, and my appetite and nutrition change. There are also results in my competition, but I would say the most precious result that I have is the mental results, evolving and overcoming every time. Being able to realize how we work on different levels, mental, physical, emotional is for me the most precious results I could get.

It’s really enriching. It’s not only a sports program. It’s not only exercise and workouts to perform. There is a whole transformation on so many levels. You work on emotions, on mindset, on physical recovery, changing your lifestyle. You get tools on so many things to go where you wanna go and much further. So for me It has just been an incredible adventure.

I was an athlete all my life and I’ve had some really awesome coaches and I want someone who is going to inspire me to perform at my best. I feel Seychelle has that edge and intensity that I want in a coach and at the same time she is compassionate and a great listener. Seychelle coaches with such love and compassion but she also challenges us. I think that’s rare to find in a coach.  Everything she’s had to offer has great value because it’s just enriched my life in so many ways, as a woman, as an athlete, as a friend, as a spouse. She’s really given me a lot of great advice on all these areas. Thank you Seychelle!
