Retreats combine some of the absolute best parts of life, paddling, and coaching into one epic adventure. They are the way I always envisioned I would go with this marvelous sport.
"The community" is near the top of everyone's list when they list the reasons they love to SUP. A retreat then is an intimate gathering of such community. A place where magic and adventure surely happen.

Seychelle is a world champion SUP racer, standup paddle and women's life coach. She is also a long time Crossing fan and supporter and has trained many athletes to cross from Bimini to Florida over the years.⁠

Seychelle is beyond stoked to be participating in this year's Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis for the first time as a crusader! She will be racing in a 2-person relay team with her husband Will and a support team of their 1 year old son Ry.⁠

Though this will be the first Bimini crossing, Seychelle is no stranger to ultra endurance paddling and has won many ultra events over the years including a Guinness World Record for longest distance paddled in 24 hours.⁠

Seychelle will be hosting some donation based standup paddle technique clinics in the coming months for X4CF. Stay tuned for details and dates on those!⁠

Do you ever see someone post one training photo and then think "oh my god look at them! They must be training all the time. Must be nice" and then immediately feel like you should be doing more, think you're lazy or too busy, or you're just not doing enough. Umm...Yep.☝🏻🙋🏼‍♀️
Like if you only had time for more training, somehow your life would be better.
Just a reminder (or two,)
Instagram is only a teeny tiny glimpse of someone's life. And are the snap shots they are choosing to share.
Even if you know someone in person, unless you live with them, you don't know the vast majority of it.
So relax on thinking about what someone else's life (or training) is like.
It doesn't matter.
This is different than finding someone motivating or inspiring.
I'm talking about when it makes you feel bad, less than, or beat yourself up.
See the difference, yeah?
It's so tough in this society, in these times to feel like you are enough, because society is designed and thrives off your feeling like you're not,
so then you work harder, or you buy the thing.
It takes consistent practice and reminders of our wholeness.
A desire to live and choose consciously.
And if you don't know how or what that means, find a guide or a group that does.
"But if I feel like I'm enough, then I won't feel motivated to push myself or try hard."
Untrue.
You CAN live your life from a place of overflow rather than lack.
A place of celebration of what a body can do.
A healthy relationship with competition that helps us grow.
You can do what you do because of your Why,
not your why Not.
The deeper we are connected to our core Why, the more clear our goals and priorities,
the easier it is to say no to things that are not exactly that.
This may or may not find you more time to train. (It depends on your priorities) but it WILL help you stop feeling bad about yourself and your "lack" of time or effort.

6 miles with the stroller! 🥵
Funny story: I've only ever been honked at by a non-friend once while running on A1A. and it was while I was running with Will and he was pushing the stroller. Will says that it happens to him all the time, trucks honk and motorcyclists rev their engines as they pass.
I can't help but wonder is it ...
a) Other fathers cheering him on for being an awesome dad and stroller running?
b) Men hooting approval for him running with his shirt off? 😛
c) Guys being dicks and trying to wake the baby.

Social media and life reminders (that I need and maybe you do too 😉)
No matter what someone will be triggered by or misunderstand you.
There's no way around it.
So we just need to get over caring about that.
Speak what is truthful to you. It won't be everyone's truth. Speak it anyway.
Not everyone will approve of how you live your life. That's not your problem. You don't need their approval or permission.
Know yourself and then be authentic. Not everyone is going to like you. You don't have control over this. Some will like you even more. You also don't have control over this. 😉
Make choices and take responsibility for your life. If you are choosing for the highest good, joy, or pleasure, then there are most certainly those who will be triggered
by your freedom
by your words
by your actions
by your love
Worry about others less.
Enjoy your life more.

I'm also done with flexing in photos.
I'm done with the parts of me that flip flopped between never being satisfied with my body and needing to show off how ripped I was.
I killed that part of my ego.
Called in Kali ma and destroyed it.
And damn did it scare the crap out of me to do so,
and damn does it feel good to be set free.
I never thought I had body image issues, not in the traditional sense, but I sure did have an obsession with how I looked.
I always flexed in photos.
Hell, I walked around flexing like I was in a perpetual 'flattest stomach' contest.
Even around the house. Even when it was just me and my husband. and especially after dinner. 😋
And if this is you as well, or you simply 'suck it in' because you are ashamed of a little belly fat, let me tell you it feels SO GOOD to let that go. Let your body relax. Let your belly breathe.
Feel comfort and ease in your own skin.
A little belly fat, a few curves, a softness to her, those are the feminine in beauty and health.
Can you look at your body and be in awe of its abilities?
Can you care for, nourish, and move your body out of Love for her progress
rather than out of fear for her insufficiencies?
Can you see that imperfection in this moment is perfection
because it's exactly what you need to get to the next.
Most importantly I'm grateful to have pealed off yet another layer (of the unending layers) of not caring what others think about me or needing to 'make sure' people think of me a certain way.
Trying to control other's opinion is 1000% in your head, totally impossible, and a sure fire way to drive yourself crazy.
Also an apology for what it's worth to anyone who needs to hear it. If you ever looked at my photos and felt bad about yourself.
Just know, that was never my intention and,
I was definitely flexing.

I don't want my abs back.
A sentence you never thought you would hear. And yet.... here it is.
I love this healthy, fertile, abundant, body.
A women isn't supposed to have a six pack.
😳👆🏻👆🏻
Yes, I know, I've spent most of my adult life with one and if I start training hard again, it's probably going to come back.
Sports performance is one thing.
Optimal, hormonal, holistic health is often another thing entirely.
In society today we have this deeply ingrained image of 'perfection' as having extremely masculine qualities.
Go, Do, Think, Achieve, Get results.
We value Hard work and Hard bodies.
Those aren't bad things but they need balancing. Especially if you are a feminine being.
It's no wonder that so many today hardly feel like they are enough,
not successful enough, not doing enough, not enough time, and certainly not firm enough in their bodies.
These thoughts and feelings are the result of an unchecked, out of balance masculine energy.
The feminine needs to flow, to feel, to just be, (not doing, trying, rushing) to have softness, to take up space, and to slow the F down.
The feminine does what she does out of devotion to her self, to love, to pleasure, to what is true and NOT to achieve a certain result or outcome by doing so.
Ladies when is the last time you approached your life in this way?
Perhaps never, because we were not taught to value these qualities.
If you weren't being productive you were 'wasting' your time or being 'lazy.'
And yet the feminine is the missing key needed by so many right now.
I know it. I feel it. I've spent the last 2 years working on Her and...
I have never felt better, nor more balanced, whole, or at peace.
(and it's not because life is 'perfect,' trust me)
It's because I've learned to know the perfection in exactly what is.

You know those posts where you are Really afraid to hit "share."
That's how I know those are the good ones.
The deeper ones
The ugly truth ones
The juicy parts of me ones
The ones where I am afraid I will be seen as too bold,
too much,
too weird,
too honest,
too out there,
or just plain wrong.
This is not one of those posts.
I rarely share those ones.
This ecstatic energy runs through my body for the next several hours after I do.
That's how I know those are the words that I need to be sharing.
Fear is like a spotlight that points the way.
I have lists and lists of partially written captions of things I feel called to share and then never do.
I have good excuses too.
I blame my disenchantment with this platform for my lack of follow through.
I claim I'd rather not be spending time on my phone than have the discipline to show up consistently.
Well, I got a whole new list of those partially written captions I want to share after spending the better part of the last two years on healing the feminine.
And a whole new good excuse for not getting around to posting them.🤱🏼
Let's see how the next weeks/months go and if I have the courage to post them.

Huge congrats to @aprilzilg for publishing her first book! Ri/I've got a few things to say about it.
I'm so stoked for April putting together this planner. In @theathleteagenda she breaks down goal setting and makes tracking yourself super simple.
I'm looking forward to using it. I'm a writer and a journaler and I definitely love having separate journals for separate aspects of my life. So here's the perfect companion for the part of me that always has been and always will be an athlete.
I love April's mindset and approach that we are ALL, everyone who has a fitness goal, athletes. You don't have to be a pro, you don't have to have winning or specific outcomes set as your goals to be an athlete. You just have to enjoy the process.

Went to my first race! The sunshine SUP series in Pompano Beach. It was so fun to be at an event again, to see everyone, and to just get out there for spirit of it.
I've been practicing and getting really good at doing what I do for the sake of love, enjoyment, pleasure, and not because I need to win or to prove myself.
I can still feel the intensity, the competitive jolts, and push my comfort zone, AND not experience the anxiety that comes from expectations.
Something truly becomes worth while when you stop caring about the outcome.
An experience can be felt fully and fulfilling when you do it for the desire of the moment and not result.
Thank you @aquaholicv for an awesome event and for the push around the race course! Stoked to paddle with you again.

Shout out to my mom for babysitting so we can go do things together, like paddle.
This morning was perfect.
Lots of folks have been reaching out to ask how it's going (mostly other moms who know what it's like at this stage.) And I'm so grateful to report that I have all the support in the world that a girl could ask for and more.
I always have.
This guy right here, and my mom, always supporting me, always at the top of my gratitude list.
I am so blessed.
I'm also a part of an online womens group for sacred sisterhood (@leila.dylla) and an in person mamas group for postpartum connections.
Part of being a super woman is surrounding yourself with support, asking for and receiving help.
We are not meant to go through this life and all it's tumultuousness alone, although I think most women feel they are.

It's been fun playing along with the @foundationtraining #q2challenge. I've found FT to be a perfect postpartum movement practice.
In @kimberly.ann.johnson book #thefourthtrimester (highly recommend for pregnant mamas) she describes the "breath for length" as an integral part of postpartum recovery. To me it sounded a lot like #decompressionbreathing 😃🤩
